The School of Transnational Law

Peking University School of Transnational Law (“STL”) is unique in China and unique in the world, offering American-style J.D. and LL.M. degrees in English, alongside a China Law J.M. degree taught in Chinese. Both curriculums are rich in courses emphasizing transnational law and practice, Chinese law and legal traditions, and other cutting-edge courses designed to equip STL graduates of all nationalities for leadership in the 21st century.

STL is located in Shenzhen, China, minutes from Hong Kong.  Shenzhen is renowned as China’s “Silicon Valley,” home to information and biotechnology start-ups and such innovative giants as Tencent, Huawei, BYD, and DJI Drones.  Together, Shenzhen and Hong Kong form the core of the world’s largest single metropolitan area, China’s Pearl River Delta, where Chinese and Western legal and commercial traditions are meeting and merging in ways likely to preview future legal developments throughout China and the rest of the world as China’s global economic influence grows.

Opportunity

STL invites applications for entry-level and lateral tenure track scholars of U.S. and Comparative Constitutional Law, Innovation Law and Policy, Intellectual Property, Law and Biotechnology, Energy Law, and all areas of China law and legal history.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a Jurist Doctor (J.D.), Doctor of Law (PHD) or SJD, preferably in Comparative Constitutional Law, Innovation Law and Policy, Intellectual Property, Law and Biotechnology, Energy Law.

Salary and Benefits

Salary will be competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing applicable labour laws. The positions are based at the Peking University Campus in Shenzhen, PRC.
