PEKING UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF TRANSNATIONAL LAW (“STL”) in Shenzhen, China seeks a creative and motivated individual for the position of Executive Assistant.  The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Director of Admissions, Communications and Student Services at STL, with principal responsibility for implementing the law school’s marketing strategy to increase awareness of STL among prospective students, the legal academy, and the global legal and business communities. The successful candidate also will provide support to various STL administrative offices, including admissions, student services, academic affairs and faculty services.  The varied responsibilities of the Executive Assistant will enable the successful candidate to develop a comprehensive understanding of STL and of graduate legal studies at China’s top University.  STL offers an engaging bilingual and collaborative work environment, which will hone and promote the successful candidate’s abilities to work successfully in a cross-cultural professional environment.

Desired Qualifications.

  1. a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Journalism, English, Marketing, Public Relations or other related major, or obtaining the same skills, with preference given to candidates possessing a master’s degree;
  2. excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills in both English and Chinese; study abroad experience preferred.
  3. knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or comparable design software preferred;
  4. the ability to work collaboratively and independently in a cross-cultural work environment; and
  5.  the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Duties include:

  1. management of STL’s web site and all digital and social media outreach, such as Weibo, WeChat, LinkedIn, etc.;
  2. assisting with the design, printing coordination, and circulation of promotional materials;
  3.  assisting with the coordination of internal meetings and external events of the STL (e.g., lecturers, commencement, summer honors program; academic symposia, etc.);
  4. provide support to STL administrative office on admissions, student services, academic affairs and faculty support;
  5. other assignments as stipulated by the supervisors;

Background of STL.

 In 2007, the State Council of The People’s Republic of China authorized Peking University, one of the world’s great research universities, to undertake a bold and forward-looking experiment in legal education:  the creation of a post-graduate law school offering both an American-style Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a Chinese Juris Master (J.M.) degree.  The next year, STL welcomed its first entering class on Peking University’s stunning new graduate campus in Shenzhen.

一、岗位要求

  1、本科及以上学历(硕士或具备国外教育背景可优先考虑);

  2、新闻、中文、英语等相关专业,或具备相关能力;

  3、具备较好的中英文听说读写和翻译能力;

  4、能适应中英双语、跨文化工作环境;

  5、掌握Photoshop、Illustrator或其他常用平面设计软件;

  6、工作责任心与服务意识强,有团队合作精神;能在规定时间内完成工作任务。

二、工作职责:

  1、负责学院官方网站的信息更新和社交平台(微博、微信、LinkedIn、Facebook)的管理维护;

  2、负责学院学术讲座和活动海报的设计以及活动宣传;

  3、参与学院各项活动的策划组织工作,如学术讲座、大型论坛、毕业典礼、夏令营等;

  4、协助学院招生、就业、学工和国际项目等部门的相关工作,为其他部门提供必要支持;

  5、上级安排的其他工作。
