International Affairs Coordinator
 
 PKU Shenzhen is seeking a qualified individual with native-level English, Chinese language proficiency and a strong work ethic to guide the internationalization efforts of the 
 university-wide administration.
 
 Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKUSZ) is a satellite graduate campus of China’s prestigious Peking University. It was established in 2001 and currently has over 3000 
 graduate students. Two of the academic schools offer English-taught programs: the HSBC Business School (PHBS) and the School of Transnational Law (STL). Furthermore, each year, it is home to 200+ international students who come from over 50 different countries worldwide.
 
 Position: Administrative, Full-time
 
 Location: Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China
 
 Contract: 3 years with possibility of renewal
 
 Position Description:
 The international affairs coordinator (IAC) is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the internationalization efforts of PKUSZ and managing the school’s English language news media. The IAC offers direct service to international students as a community resource and collaborator across multiple departments. In addition, the IAC contributes to strategic planning and facilitates the implementation of internationalization plans, evaluates progress and models effective intercultural communication practices. Ideal candidates must be creative, open-minded and quick to learn and adapt. 
 
 The IAC works within the International Affairs Office of PKU Shenzhen and reports to the office director Prof. Zhou Qiang.
 
 Main Responsibilities: 
  Plan and manage the Orientation of new incoming international students
  Manage and update the PKU Shenzhen English website
  Assist with international affairs, including making arrangements for international visitors, international conferences and translating school materials
  Assist faculty with the development of international partnerships and internationalization policy
  Plan on-campus and off-campus cross-cultural events 
  Liaise with university offices and maintain comprehensive information and support services regarding international students
  Manage the English language media team and social media accounts and create high-quality content to be shared across various platforms
  Collaborate and build relationships with community organizations to plan events and promote international student community engagement
  Manage the Campus Advisor program, Chinese student assistants who assist with international student support
  Aptly respond to student emergencies and unexpected circumstances and ensure student safety 
  Other duties as assigned
 
 Required Qualifications:
  Bachelor’s degree
  Native English speaker with excellent writing skills
  2 years of related work experience
  Working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese
 
 Preferred Qualifications:
  Degree in education, international education, international relations, communications, management, Chinese or other related discipline
  Intercultural competency and respect for diverse backgrounds and cultures
  Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong interest with working in student services
  Experience creating engaging content for social media or traditional media
  Administrative work experience at a university
  Preferred work and/or study experience in China
