嘉宾介绍:
Joel Seligman, one of the nation’s leading experts on securities law, is the 10th president of the University of Rochester.
He served as dean at Washington University School of Law (1999-2005) and University of Arizona College of Law (1995-1999), and was professor on the faculties of University of Michigan Law School, George Washington University Law School, and Northeastern University Law School.
Mr. Seligman is the coauthor, with the late Louis Loss and with Troy Paredes, of the 11-volume Securities Regulation, the leading treatise in the field, and author of The Transformation of Wall Street: A History of the Securities and Exchange Commission and Modern Corporate Finance. He has authored or coauthored 20 books and more than 40 articles on legal issues related to securities and corporations.
Mr. Seligman also has served as reporter for the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, Revision of Uniform Securities Act; as chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission Advisory Committee on Market Information; and as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Professional Ethics Executive Committee. He also was a member of the board of the National Association of Securities Dealers.
He is currently a member of the board of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the Eastman Kodak Company, and the Upstate New York Regional Advisory Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. In the Greater Rochester community, he serves on the boards of the George Eastman House, Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE), and Rochester Business Alliance.
Mr. Seligman earned his bachelor’s degree from UCLA and his juris doctor degree from Harvard.
